Engagement AI Text Response Summarization and Insights

Introduction

AI Text Response Summarization automatically analyzes your pulse survey text responses to identify sentiment patterns, key themes, and actionable insights. This feature is available to Admin and Billing Admin users on PerformYard Enterprise accounts.

Important Note: This feature uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries. While designed to provide accurate analysis, AI summaries may not capture all organizational nuances or context. Always review the underlying responses alongside AI insights when making decisions.

Enabling Text Response Summarization

To Enable:

Navigate to Administration > AI Insights and select AI Engagement Analysis. Toggle "Enable Text Response Summarization" to On.

To Disable:

Return to Administration > AI Insights > AI Engagement Analysis and toggle "Enable Text Response Summarization" to Off.

Note: When disabled, Admin and Billing Admin users will lose access to the Summarize option for text questions.

Text Summarization Access and Content

When Text Response Summarization is enabled, Admin and Billing Admin roles will have access to the ability to request a summarization of responses to the following question types:

• Additional Feedback responses
• eNPS feedback responses
• Custom Text Question responses

Please keep in mind that summarization takes into account the selected dashboard date range and cohort filter selection so as to provide an easy way to gather analysis based on cohort or time period that would be critical to analyze.

To access the summarization command, select the overflow menu associated with a text response question and then select the "Summarize" option. A panel will then be displayed that contains the details of the summarization request and the content of the summarization itself.

Responses will then be summarized and insights will be provided under a number of sections:

• Summary: This section is a general overview of key findings given all responses examined together as a whole.
• Overall Sentiment: The overall sentiment section displays the dominant sentiment amongst survey responses and a breakdown of each sentiment type that was detected.
• Examples: The Examples section contains sample responses demonstrating each sentiment category to help you understand the classification.
• Themes: The Themes section highlights common topics and patterns identified across responses.
• Recommendations: Finally, a recommendations section displays actionable insights that would assist with employee engagement and address identified themes.

Summary Tools

After a summary is generated, the text of the summary can be copied for easy transfer into another file such as a slide presentation or text document to be distributed to stakeholders.

In addition, if you would like Engagement to try summarizing responses again you can refresh the summary by selecting the Re-summarize button.
