Meeting Action Items
Introduction
An action item is a specific task or follow-up assigned to a participant during a meeting, usually with a due date. They ensure accountability and help track progress on key takeaways, ensuring that tasks are completed after the meeting.
With PerformYard Meetings, action items are collaborative meaning all meeting participants can add and assign action items before, during, or after the meeting.
Creating an Action Item

To create an action item, click + Add Action Item.
Type in what needs to be accomplished and then click Add Action Item.

Your action item should now be at the bottom of the action items list.
Assigning an Action Item
Please note: Only the creator of the action item can assign it.
During the creation of an action item, you have the option to assign it to any person in the meeting and set a due date. Both assignee and due data are optional. To assign the action item, click Assignee and then select a meeting participant from the dropdown menu. To set a due date, click Due Date and then select a date.

Editing an Action Item
Please note: Only the creator of the action item can update it.

To edit an action item, hover over it and then click the pencil icon.
Make any changes to what you’d like accomplished and then click Save Changes.
Your action item should now be updated in the list of action items. If this action item was carried over from a previous meeting, it will remain unedited in that meeting.
If you’d like to discard your changes while editing an action item, click Cancel.
Editing an Action Item’s Assignments
Please note: Only the creator of the action item can update its assignments.
To edit the assignment or due date of the action item, hover over the action item and click the pencil icon. Once the action item is in its editing state, simply choose a new assignee or due date with the controls provided and then click Save Changes. If an action item was carried over, editing the assignment and due date of an action item will update all instances of that action item.

Please note, all action items will have a due date of 5pm in the creator’s timezone on the selected due date.
Marking an Action Item as Complete or Incomplete
Please note: Only the creator of the action item and the person assigned to the action item can mark it as complete or incomplete..
After completing an action item, you can mark it as complete by clicking the corresponding checkbox. This helps inform meeting participants that the task was successfully completed. If an action item was carried over from a previous meeting, marking it as complete or incomplete in the current meeting will not affect its status in earlier meetings. Each instance of the action item maintains its own completion status independently.
If you need to mark a completed action item as incomplete, simply click the checkbox again to reset it.

Deleting an Action Item
Please note: Only the creator of the action item can delete it.
To delete an action item, hover the action item and then click the x icon. Please note, this will permanently delete the action item from this meeting. If this action item was carried over from a previous meeting, it will remain in that meeting.
Action Items Page
The Action Items page provides a centralized view of all your action items across meetings and meeting workspaces, no more digging through individual meetings to find your action items. This page allows you to see action items you've been assigned and ones you've created and assigned to others. You can easily track progress, update completion statuses, and manage your tasks all in one place. The table displays key details such as the action item name, assignee, status, due date, creator, and related meeting workspace. Filters and search functionality let you quickly narrow down items by assignee, creator, due date, status, and more. Whether you're an employee tracking your to-dos or a manager monitoring team follow-ups, the Action Items page simplifies staying on top of meeting outcomes.

You can also easily manage your tasks without navigating into individual meetings. By clicking the ellipsis menu in the last column, both the creator and the assignee can update the completion status. If you're the creator, you'll also have options to edit important details such as the action item’s name, assignee, and due date, or delete the item entirely.

Clicking Edit will open popup where you can make updates, while deleting prompts a confirmation to ensure no changes are made by accident.
