In the hierarchy of goals that your organization can create, you'll want to designate those goals that appear at the top of the alignment to which all other goals may roll up. In PerformYard, these are called "Top Goals." These goals can be assigned to anyone in the organization, and then other goals can select these as goals they support.
Administrators can select any goal to be a Top Goal for the organization. Top goals are indicated by a star icon when viewing the details, and can have other goals align to it.
Top Goals can be designated when creating a goal or when editing. You will see a check box at the bottom of the Edit or Create screen to designate the goal as a Top Goal.
Once you check the box, the options for goal alignment will disappear, since you cannot upwardly align a top goal by definition.
